I've recently seen this Kershaw Storm II for sale and was puzzled about the model number.

I know that 1475 is the regular blade,
1475ST has serrations
1475TST is tanto style with serrations

But what is 1475STX? It looks like the 1475ST but I can't work out what the additional 'X' is for!

Here is a pic:

Thanks for your help.

A quick glance on a certain auction suggested that it also comes in cardboard box......

so does the X denote a packaging variation?

That's what I initially thought. But having bought the 1475ST already (with box) the blade does look a little different. But I can't tell exactly how.

The 'Kershaw' label on the blade starts from the beginning of the serrations on my version. In the picture, the serrations start at the middle level of the "Kershaw' label. Serration length on both models seem the same.

Also, the blade in the pic looks a little shorter than my version (even tough it's a Storm II). Maybe it's the angle of the shot?

are the serrations of the STX the new scalloped variety? and the ST the older more aggressive style?

I don't know about the STX but the ST has convex style serrations.

Maybe Thomas could help clear this up?

well the knife in the picture has the newer scalloped model so that might just be that :)

I've looked at the photo the best I can and I can't say anything about the serration style. Depending on whether the light is above or below, the serration could be perceived as either convex or concave (scalloped) style.

It would make more sense to name the model depending on the product rather than the packaging though.

BTW: That's the only picture I have.

Thanks for your help everyone!
