Was from a long deceased relative , home made thing or worth something ?
No markings at all on blade.
Thanks !

Without any markings, I'd say chances are it's a selfmade knife, maybe based on a pre-made blade blank.

Still, it looks really functional and neat. It might be worth something. What else do you know about this knife? What year did your relative procure it?

I could be wrong, but it looks to me like the blade was handmade and the handle more than likely came from a production knife.

It may not be but it looks like it might be an old kabar by the look of the butt of the knife ... and maybe that the blade was either broken and cutdown or reground ... and the handle redone ... but it appears the ratio of blade to handle and butt cap is off ... and the sheath looks like it may hold a bit larger blade ... just a thought from the picture.

Looks like a Romo. Romo were knives sold by a US importer (Rosenbaum & Mogal, NYC) and usually made in Germany, Italy or Japan. I believe they were sold/marketed into the 50's.

They did more with straight razors and pocket knives but did offer fixed blades. I had* one of their small hunting fixed blades and the "ROMO" etch on the blade isn't deep.

*EDIT: I thought I still had it. I must have traded it off.

That pommel looks like a vintage KaBar hunting knife, but that's about all that resembles anything production. I'm guessing you've got a franken-knife from someone who didn't like to throw stuff out. The pommel looks like a KaBar; the blade's been recycled; the sheath is from something else probably; the handle's been redone... Looks like a knife my great grandmother would have had. Kept near the 9-10 months worth of canned goods. Different times.

Cool looking anyway, I like the idea, if it is, of a re-purposed materials to make a functional blade.
