Just received my first Kershaw, a JYDII, and the blade so tight it takes both hands to open it!:grumpy:

I believe all that I have to do is release some pressure on the pivot but I do not have a torx screw driver.

A quick search has revealed various sizes for the torx screw driver sets.

What size suits the Kershaw JYDII please?

The online supplier I got the JYDII from has the Benchmade maintenance kits in stock ...will these fit my new Kershaw ?

Thank you kind folks for your efforts.

Riffraff, special thanks for going to the trouble of checking on your own knife.

The relief I feel is huge as I live in rural Australia and now I can try and get the right drivers locally rather than order a T-Tool online which was my only other option.

On almost every Kershaw I own, the pivot is T8 and everything else is a T6. Except IIRC the Skyline pivot was a whopping T10!

Just email kershaw and ask if they can send you a tool...

Great idea and it sure would be a test of customer service if they sen one free to Australia. I may give it a go ...if they do I will be buying only Kershaw made knives for the rest of my life! :D

Very much appreciated. I feel I should be right with getting two single torx screw drivers if I can't find a set. :)

The Wiha Tools Torx screw drivers are a good choice. The #26792 (T5, T6, T7, T8, T9, T10, & T15) set has served me well for almost 15 years.

I knew one was different, just couldn't remember which one. The Skyline a bit odd, anyway; different pivot size, missing one liner, etc. :D

Ended up having to get a 32 piece mini screw driver set made in China. :(

But at least I was able to loosen off the pivot screw so now I can open the knife one handed.

After a ruff start I hope for smoother times ahead with the JYDII.

Thanks again for all your help.

Got the pivot screw eased off and now the flipper is working fine.:D

Thanks for all the help in getting the correct size Torx screw driver bit!

BladeForums folk are A1+ !!!;)
