Not sure if this is the right forum, but I am sure someone will inform me. I came across a couple Bark Rivers at my local pawn shop today. A Bosnian skinner (2009 Custom, African Wood) with BR sheath great shape but not collector. And this prototype... it's got some sort of burl dyed green handle, BR sheath again great condition, but not a collector. Anyone know what this one is? Sorry about the bad phone pictures.

Can't help you with the model, but I can tell you that there is a Bark River Collector's Association that maintains a web site where they try to list everything the company has produced. I believe you can find a link on the BRKT factory web site. Might have to search a little, but you can probably find the answer there if none of the folks on BF recognize your picture. I've seen a lot of Barkies, including some concept models, but that one's not familiar to me.

Hey,
I spotted this at my local pawn shop today. It's has a green burl handle, it's marked prototype, comes with the BR sheath. Anyone know anything about it? Thanks and sorry for the poor pictures.

Waiting on a Super.

If I remember correctly that knife was called a Southern Skinner.
I was close to get that very knife when it was up for sale in 2007.

Regards
Mikael

Don't get too hung-up on the "prototype" designation. BRKT sells a lot of knives marked with that on the blades, and except for s few extremely collectible knife models over the years, they are not worth more than a standard production run model.
