I've been given this knife by my father in which I am unclear how it came into his possession (I think Salvation Army).

I was wondering what anyone thought of this knife. It looks as though it has a bone handle, but I am unsure if that is the material. It is hard and bowed a bit from the tang. Nice leather sheath and a great knife. I have googled and called Maxwell himself and I am awaiting a response.

Would love to know when it was made and how much it is worth. .but only he would know this. Thanks for any help.

It looks to me like a sheep horn handle. I searched also. He makes some nice looking knives. That may have been an early one. It appears to have a gap in the handle. I don't know his policies, but it may be worth seeing if he would spiff it back up for a nominal fee.

Yeah, let's see if he gets back to me anythime soon. I really like the way it sits in the sheath, and it feels pretty good in the hand. I don't know if the handle came that way or if it's been bowed due to water dammage.

Never the less it's nice to know it isn't just some run-of-the-mill knife.

Thanks for the response.

Hey Jagged, you were right it is sheep horn. He was a real nice guy and told me he prob. made it in '98 or so and said it's worth (if he made it today) would be about $350.

Thanks for the help.
