Help!!, A friend of mine recently came back from his birth home with some memorabilia. He asked me to look at a knife/letter opener his father had, and I'm coming up blank. It is old chrome, or stainless, double edged with a brass double guard, much like a dagger. The blade is approx 4" long. Behind the guard is a spacer made of metal (brass) with rings to make it appear stacked. It then goes to a stag handle with a slight downward curve to the back. The handle appears to be attached with a brass plate, and two pins driven straight into the stag. The tang markings appear to say "MJM XL"
"JOSEPH"
"ALLEN & SON"
"SHEFFIELD"
"ENGLAND"
All without qoutes of course. It came in a leather sheath that is stitched down the front center, and it has a belt loop on the back. It was then also closed in a cloth bag with a snap. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Lance
