I want to try to put together a California legal neck knife.
In this state you cannot conceal a fixed blade so every commercial neck knife I've seen is a no-go.
My idea is to combine a wave knife with a one of the rapid deployment sheaths (on a neck cord) to make a legal neck knife. The problem is the weight. A LaGriffe is 1.5oz, the lightest wave knifes are the PSARK and Mini-C which go out at 4.1oz.
My idea is to try to lighten up a wave knife to enough to be comfortable for neck wear. Say 3 oz including sheath.
Most of the weight savings will have to come from drilling out the extra metal in the blade. Not quite sure if it will be enough though. I figure a little bit of weight could come out of the liners and scales. Could thin or drilled titanium scales be lighter than the stock stocks while maintaining the structure?
Any other ideas?
Anybody have a thrashed PSARK, Mini-C or waved CQC they want to get rid of cheep?
