Help with a Neck Knife

Friend of mine gave me a little neck knife to reprofile and sharpen. When he brought it in, it was in it's original plastic sheath but he was using some fishing line as a ? lanyard, cord, whatever to carry it. I've got some paracord and leather lace laying around here somewhere. Anyone have any good instructions or pics on how to make a braided cord to carry it? Simple is good, complex is better :)

Google "turk's head knot" or "fancy braids" and that sort of thing and you'll get TONS of how-tos on all sorts of knots and braids.

I've got neckers hanging from bead chain, paracord, and hollowed out paracord with bead chain running through it. I don't braid mine, though I do have colored plastic beads strung on one chain :)

Here's some websites with cord or lanyard work:

Roper's Knots
Folsom's Knots
Boondoggle

I would never use any type of cord that can accidently strangle you, it can also be used to choke you to death from behind. I use a GI beaded chain, it is designed to break off preventing injury or death. I carry my La Griffe with its beaded chain open carry as specified by law here. Hope this helps... ;)

Thanks guys, Ropers did the trick, used a lovers knot on a thin piece of leather lace so that he could adjust the fit of the cord. Used thin leather lace because it's thin enough to snap if he is ever in a position where he might be strangled by it.

Once again, I appreciate the help.
