Help with a Pocket Sheath

So for my birthday recently, I was given a Higo-no-kami. I really like it, only thing is there is not enough friction to keep the blade in the closed position in my pocket. I'm thinking a pocket sheath would deal with my concerns about stabbing my leg. With that said, I have a question...

Where can I get a tiny amount of quality leather? If you've seen this knife, you know it's super slim closed. The dimensions are approximately .5 x .25 x 3.5 inches, so I wouldn't need much. I think a 4 x 4 square would be plenty. I checked out Tandy and it seems you have to buy at least 7 square feet which is WAY more than I would need. Is the leather from places like Michael's or Hobby Lobby quality stuff (I could hold it in my hand and still have no idea)?

If anyone could help me out with this I'd be greatly appreciative. By the way, I plan on using the sticky showing how to make a pocket sheath as my guide. Any general tips and tricks would be great to know as well.

Thanks in advance!

If you look at Knifekits.com I know they have 1sq.ft. pieces of leather they sell. Here ya go... they sell a 6x12" piece for five bucks:

Tripwire,

I'll do you one better - send me an email with your address?
And I'll send you some leather & thread for FREE!
You would need to come up with - glue, dye and the tools to make the sheath.

Hows that sound? - my email is in my sig line at bottom.
