Help with a Randall 1-7 Stag....

Hello, I am a newbie posting here, long time follower. We own a few Randall's , and am fairly familiar with them...to a point. I am hoping someone can help shed some insight on this 1-7 we just purchased for my son. The pictures in the ad were a little deceiving of the handle size, and we have never seen one like this. It is the lower Stag handle, without the buttcap. The handle is only 4 inches long, and not even an inch in diameter at the end, almost like a ladies or youth handle. I sent some pictures to Randall today, and they said although a very unique and unusual handle for the knife, it did come from the factory that way. We are just curious if anyone has seen such a small handle on a knife this size. Our other 1-7 is next to it for comparison. Thanks for any info, we appreciate it.

Here's a 4-inch handle quite a bit less than one inch.

...and here's the handle of a knife with 8 inch blade, also less than an inch

Steve, thanks for the reply and the pictures. We had not seen that small of a handle before. Nice knife, but sure is hard to get used to in your hand. Thank you.

It's my understanding that with the Indian Stag ban, handles seem to be on the small side. The Randall RKS 8-4 club knives were the first time I saw that. Can't remember what year they came out. 2002-2003? so almost 15 years! Bart
