Help with a Samurai Sword please

My son was gifted a Samurai Sword. His wife's grandmother has had it stuck in the back of a closet since WWII. The inscriptions under the grip is what I'm trying to post here.

do a tang rubbing there are places you can send the rubbing to give you some answers

has a Showa stamp indicating non-traditional manufacture.

I said blade, not "tang" , pay attention

My post was genuine curiosity not any kind of verbal slight. Because if you hadn't been able to see them I would have tried re-hosting them.

Although you are right about the blade vs. tang. I wasn't really concerned about the content of the pictures at the time so I didn't really pay attention to the wording.

It probably means that the blade was forged from bar stock rather than iron bearing sand/tamehagane.

it also could have just been machine made ( machine forged like Steven said), and oil quenched.
