Help with a885uh

I was at my dad's house yesterday going through some old boxes with him. he said there was a knife he wanted me to have in one of them. well i found it still in the original box, this where i need help. the knife was laying shield side down on the foam packing and when i picked it up the foam was stuck to the bolsters and shield. it looks to be lightly pitted is there anything i can do to clean this up.

Start with a soak in mineral oil or WD-40. Give it a rubdown with a soft cloth. That usually takes care of 90% of the crap that gets stuck to knives.

Some polish compound on a rag helps with the stubborn stuff too.

thanks for the advice, I worked on it with brasso for about 10 min. and it looks like helped. it look like it's lightly etched, but i think a little elbow grease will do wonders for it.
