I have a Flash II, aluminum handle with TiNi blade. I've owned it for about two years but just noticed some side to side play in the blade.
Is the pivot adjustable? I'm afraid to put too much pressure on the torx screw because I hate "buggered" screw heads.
Can someone give advice?

thanks

Some side to side play is normal. To get the assisted action to work correctly, that play must be there. If I remember correctly, it has something to do with where the spring mechanism needs to be to work correctly (it's located along side the blade, between the blade and the liner). There's just no way to have those parts in that location and not have some blade wiggle. The play does not effect the function or stability of the knife. Trust me, SOG worked a long time to get that action correct. If you tightened it up, you'll mess up the "assist"...and the blade play may not go away.

I agree, it makes sense , but I noticed it loosened up a little more than I thought it should have.

Anyway I was able to move the pivot a fraction with a T-8 torx bit and that seemed to help. It still has a little movement ( almost none) but it's better than it was.

Thanks for he advice.
Robbie, thanks for the email...

Welcome, I adjust all mine and it really helps. The only thing that is hard is when the whole pivot turns, then it will not tighten much if any.

I just wanted to make you aware that you can sometimes make an adjustment.

Of course this would most likely void the warranty...........
