This was in a box of stuff I got at an auction. its a 1233, but anyone have an idea on how old it might be. It's pretty rough and looks like it was an EDC before "EDC" was even a thing..... LOL
I believe zzy is correct, knife is likely 1970s. My main area of expertise are the pre-Italics and pre-numbered knives, but I do believe the numbered blades started with Cole National as zzy has said. The sheath definitely looks 70's but I do not know when this style of sheath ended, could be in the 80s.
The minimum that I'd do is take some 0000 steel wool and mineral oil to the blade and kill any active red rust. Beyond that? It's still got years of life as a user.
