In looking at options for the Mean Street blade, what does 'double cut' mean? Does it mean a sharpened top edge?

The knife in these pix below is a fine example of BUSSE Double cut finish. :)

thanks for the clarification and the great pictures. I just don't visit here often, and was considering ordering the 20th Anni Mean Street. Double Cut looks like the way to go.

Talked to Lexi today, and ordered a combat grade AMS. Double cut finish, black micarta handle. Now the waiting begins........................ :o

My second Busse product. First one was a CABS, when they first came out.
 
So what does a single cut look like? I just ordered my first Busse, and I did not spend the extra on the double cut. A comparison photo would be great.

Strictly speaking, there is no such thing as 'single cut'; at least as a named option. On some models of late, we have been able to order the 'Competition Finish' as an option on Combat Grade knives, the TGLB is the most recent example. It seems like the CF is basically a single pass, or brush blast, of the blade after heat treat, to remove the decarb layer.

That option (CF) is NOT available on the AMS. You either get standard coated, or pay a little extra for DCBB.

My NMFSH is in that combo :D and one of the AMSs will be too :thumbup:
 
No pictures comparing the two options though? I ordered a tanker gray with red/black G10. I would like to see what the standard finish looks like compared to the double cut.
 
I'm a big fan of doublecut with tigerhide canvas micarta. Haven't seen that combo available too often though.

Ok, I really like the double cut look. I'll see if I can change my order tomorrow. This will be my first and last Busse (yea right) and I want to make sure I get the one I want. Thanks for the pictures.
