I have a few axes that I’m wondering if anyone can help me estimate an approximate manufacturing date (or decade) for. I do believe the Craftsman is between 1927-1930, but unsure on the others. Most of the Keen Kutters that I see have a much more decorative logo. Thanks!

Keen Kutter, Collins Legitimus, Plumb Sledge (yes I know this isn’t an axe), and a Craftsman hatchet. Pictures in the album below.

Your date for the Craftsman is probably right. That's the old 'sing-song' stamp that was on Craftsman tools the first year that Sears offered this brand they had just purchased. It's possible that some tools with this stamp pre-date Sear's acquisition of the brand in 1926.

Thanks for the info. I like that little hatchet. Really interested in finding out more about the Keen Kutter in particular. Hopefully someone chimes in who knows more than me.

I THINK that your Keen Kutter is a relatively newer one. I think the keen kutter stamps that say E.C. Simmonds with the triangle shape are older. I think the newer Keen Kutters with the Winchester style text were made by true temper. I have one with that style font that is clearly a true temper kelly perfect jersey axe but with a keen kutter stamp. likewise your keen kutter looks like a rebadged flint edge or similar. I'm not sure what newer means exactly, maybe 1940s - 50s ?
