Help With Blade Blemish???

I have 2 blades that have a milky/cloudy streak, usually near the spine. Both blades are hollow ground. Sometimes I've noticed this near the riccasso on other knives but usually I find it's near the spine. Anyone know what causes this and if it can be removed? Someone once told me they thought it was caused by losing control of a finishing or polishing wheel.

Is this after polishing with a felt wheel? What compound are you using? Assmuming this is a polishing issue, here's what I think. Like much else we do, a lot depends on what works for an individual, but if you're working in stainless, a final polish with green chrome may eliminate the cloudiness. I have success with the pink compound too. Hope this really has something to do with your problem! :)

I get this when my compoud on my wheel isn't correct.I usually add a little new compound and do it again..Try this or going to another compound and wheel after you use this compound..

To clarify:
I am not the maker, I just happened to come into possession of these knives. I have used Flitz to no avail. I don't have a polishing wheel and am wondering if rubbing by hand will work. Where can I get these compounds?
Thanks for the input guys.

I would suggest contacting the maker if possiable and asking him to re-buff these to get the clouds out.If he won't or you can't contact him I would try and find someone to buff them out as hand polishing won't get them out..

Could have been overbuffed also, in which case they should be returned to the grinder and carefully reground on a very fine grit belt, then rebuffed with the correct compound. A worn 400/600 grit cork belt loaded w/ compound works great for this.
