Help with Buck Letter Code

Hello,
I have a Buck 110 I bought back in 2009. I think it was a SMKW exclusive. I'm trying to figure out the cover material. My brain thinks it was bone. But looking at it it doesn't look like bone. And if wood what kind? It's obviously stained. I thought the letters on the box might tell what it is. Can anyone interpret it for me?

Thanks for any help.

Here is a repost on this subject I made previously.
Words are important, what I refer to here I call the model code which is different from the catalog number.

Buck model codes follow a format. Not all may be used, The first three and last for sure.

Model# / color / blade edge /BO or dealer (if SFO) / variation # ---packaging

family color group ..BR RD BK BL (brown, red, black, blue) BR used for cocobolo etc.
3 different blues.... BLS1 BLS2 BLS3 (the original post was about Slim Selects)

Blade edge S=smooth X= serrated

SFO SM smoky mtn /WM walmart /SH copper&clad /BO build out etc (optional field)

(note Copper&Clad is a subsidiary of Shepherd Hills Cutlery)

variation number lets say C&C had 2 different red 119's, a phenolic smooth and micarta serrated (made up example) (optional field)
0119RDSSH red smooth blade for C&C
0119RDXSH1 red serrated blade for C&C, 1 designates it is the 2nd different red knife for the 119 model # for C&C

---B boxed
---C clam pack

Clear as mud? It actually makes alot of sense once you get the hang of it. All knives will have a uniquely different catalog number, the only true identifier.

Seems the model number does not specify the handle material. However, those knives were issued by Smokey Mountain and they are dyed bone if I recall accurately.

The first two letters almost always say something about the handle, usually color group, but occasionally material.
Some are obvious, IW Ironwood BN Bone BR brown BK Black GR green color group etc etc
In this particular case 0110SLSSM, the 'SL' refers to the Nickel Silver material inlayed on the handle.
Yes, the handle is bone, but the more prominent feature of the handle is the N/S inlay.
Yes, it can be confusing initially but after many years a method to the madness comes out. /R

In the special projects list for 2009 it is listed as Silver Script Folding Hunter for Smoky Mountain, with 1000 made and not serialized. The handle is listed as "Silver Script", which doesn't specify if they were bone, but they look like it to me.

Here are a couple threads about them from back in the day:

Buck has done a number of those N/S inlayed bone handled 110's and 112's. Clips, drop points, colors, 2 bladed. All for SMKW. In December of 2009 there was a Christmas edition of the OP's ( Buck_Fan Buck_Fan ) knife with snowflakes (or leaves?) engraved on the Bolsters. (in hindsight, I need to verify that)

In 2017 there were 2 sets of 112's, offered in 4 colors with N/S inlays and bone handles. The colors were blue, pink, purple, and red. One set was clip points and the other drop points. I have both sets, someday I need to take some family photos
