New to the forum so hopefully this is posted in the right place. I acquired a WWII Case 337-6Q quartermaster blade which is missing the leather washers. The pommel appears to be attached by a pin through one side only similar to this photo:

Rather than just tear into this, hopefully someone here has done this before. It appears that I need to drill out the pin until it releases from the tang and then go from there.

Please let me know.
thanks steve

I tried to drill a pin on a Pal 36(?) awhile back...and it turned ugly!...The Pin seemed to been soldered(?) in as well.
Not sure how Case did it....I found a 337 just the other day that was decent, but the Pommel is missing,(which I've learned
was more common than you'd think....more so on the Case than the Cattaraugus.)
I found pics that showed 2 different Pommels..one was solid, the other has a small Hole in the center of it..

I like to buy the one I found however.I can't find a decent Pic showing how far the Tang protruded through the Washers etc,so I can determine
IF it can be restored to orig.....Maybe a Local Machine Shop can Drill it out?.....good luck either way!
