Help with Changing Font Color

Hope this is an easy one, but it's giving me fits. I was able to edit my sales post to shade in gray an item that sold. I did this by highlighting the portion I wanted to change and then simply clicking on the "dim gray" font color under "A" (colors). But, a short time later when I sold a second item, I tried the same thing and no soap.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I can't imagine why it wouldn't work again. Try a different color and see if it is the entire color function that isn't working for you?

Without trying to track down the exact problem, I went to "edit" and found a real mess of font and color changes that may have set up a conflict that overrides that one more choice of gray. Perhaps less fiddling would give the system a chance to show the choice you really want.

Yes, you're right. I probably need to clean all that up, and go back to square one and try again.

Thanks,

Andrew

For what it's worth, I've also noticed the highlighting on selected text go away when I click on the colors tab. But I've also noticed it doesn't seem to matter; upon selecting a color, it re-colors the (previously) highlighted text anyway. Seems quirky, but it still works (same behavior when I highlighted the grayed text above).

I'm using Firefox 9.0.1 on a Win7 64-bit system, if that matters at all.

David, thanks. I understand what you're saying, but I'm not having any such luck.

I have had this happen sporadically on other forums as well, and haven't yet figured out what's going on.

This may sound odd, but you might try just typing the before the beginning of your text, and after your text, in the editor. Color code for dim gray is #A9A9A9 . Put that value in between the quotation marks following the COLOR= parameter. If this is somewhat confusing, use the editor to look at the codes around your other grayed text in your listing, for the example.

Edit:
This is how the color codes would look (with value entered for Dim Gray), wrapped around your text:

Your selected text goes here.

Whew......finally got it. I'm not even sure what did it, basically I just kept playing with it till it worked.

Thanks for all the help.
