I came across this blade in a Pawn shop

It is a scaled down Katana that is very well done

The tang patina is a dark black that really appears to make this blade fairly old

The signature is well done

The blade has some pitting but there is a interesting Hamon

Nice blade geometry

Saya is nicely lacquered with a faint wheat pattern

The fittings are well done and used to be black before some genius buffed them silver

Horn fittings

The Habaki is nicely fitted and has a cat scratch pattern

Tsuba appears to be copper or bronze plain but well done

Tsuka is nicely wrapped but dirty but ray skin is tight nodules and appears to be of a good grade

My question is what is this

Maybe a sword given to a child as a right of passage of a novelty

Age ? Worth ?

Sorry about bad photos all I had was a phone

looks like something made for "boy's day"

go over to the nihonto msg. board, they're pretty much the authority for your questions.
