It reads: The Red Warrior Axe patented Jan. 25. 1868 by William Mann, succeeded by American Ax Glassport PA.
It’s my understanding that American Ax bought the name during the 1889 merger and although just 3 years later Joseph R Mann left and started Mann Edge Tools, American Ax retained rights to use the Red Warrior name until Kelly bought them out with the rights to the Red Warrior brand in 1921.
I’m wondering if it’s possible to narrow the date of this axe down to something closer than1889-1921?
Anything closer than a 32 year range?
