I've been putting handles on some knife blanks for fun and have noticed that all of the lanyard tube stock that I have is actually a tad larger than 1/4". I've bought my lanyard tubing from several different suppliers and I always have the same trouble so I'm thinking that I just have the wrong bits. A 1/4" drill bit is too small and a 17/64" is too large. Can anyone help me with sourcing the a correctly sized bit? I recall this question being brought up in the past but I couldn't find it in search. :o

Sometimes I just chuck the tubing in the drill press and rough it up with some 60-grit sandpaper. The tube will just slide into place, and it even has some extra glue hold.

The better choice is to use a reamer, but it involves buying more equipment.

I've been using the sandpaper and drill press method. I was just thinking that there has to be a bit out there that would eliminate the need thin down the tubing or widen a 1/4" hole.

The reminder that bits are sometimes lettered led me to the thread I was looking for. I'll be picking up an "F" bit soon. I really appreciate the help.
