Help with edge deformation

Hey guys. I have a 6 inch .140 thick 3v field knife from a maker on these forums, last night I was camping out and split a couple of logs with it. Upon inspection I seem to have made the edge kinda wavy and dented in, I even seen it for like 1mm onto the grind. Is this something I should try to push back over with a stone or grind away with a belt?

Pic added, you can see how the light bends around the spot.

Can no one tell me what I'm dealing with? This isn't a chip or roll, its like an "s" curve. Is this from a thin grind on a knot or is this an edge that was over heated from the final grind?

Lay the spine of the knife down on a table with the edge up. Looking down on the edge, does the edge curve?

So it is slightly bent past the bevel up into the grind, right? If so, I guess you would contact the maker. Not for sure but the best advice I can give.

looks like it got hit by the peen side of a ball peen hammer.......or something that could deform the edge laterally (if you were looking downward at the blade at either the edge or the spine).

It could be a soft spot in the blade at that point and if you hit a hard knot in the wood with some force it might have altered the shape if it was not hardened properly. It could be something else as well, but the only way to know would be to do a hardness test on the damaged area (and I don't know how to do that, nor do I know if it would damage the blade further).

Might have gone two ways around a knot or a twist in the grain. Most likely there was nothing wrong with the the heat treat, just pushed past what it could handle given the steel and how thin the blade is as it approaches the edge. Not sure I'd worry too much about it if you're going to be beating on it regularly.

Lightly tap with a ball peen hammer from the opposing side working from the edge of the deformation inward.

Exactly what the maker told me to do. I don't have a ball peen hammer but I used a regular hammer super lightly and it worked great, now I'm going to use my work sharp with the guide to straighten out the bevel.
