Help with extremely early lockup

I recently bought a Giant Mouse GMP3 on the secondary market, it’s been a grail of mine for a long time now. However, the lock up on the knife is incredibly early. The lock up is so early that any time I place any type of real pressure on the spine of the knife, when it’s fully deployed, the lock will break and the blade will swing back down towards the handle. This knife has bronze handles and a stainless steal liner lock. I contacted Giant Mouse and they stated that since there was no record of me buying the knife originally on their website they couldn’t help. The knife has been cleaned and lubed since receiving it and the problem doesn’t seem to be getting any better any advice would be appreciated. Here’s pictures of the lockup https://imgur.com/gallery/pRto5

Holy Cow, that is early. Sucks that they won't warranty or service that for you.

Josh did some blade grind work on my Mini A100 a while back. He does great work.

That's pretty bad service if they are not willing to look at it even if you cover shipping both ways.

Loosen the screws a bit and throw the blade open with some force a few times. While it is seated a bit deeper tighten them back up and it should be fine to wear in.

If not send it to REK

Another reason to not buy a GM. No warranty unless it's original owner.

See if you can contact the original owner and see if he can help you.

Did the original owner disclose this poor lockup? Is he the original owner too or not? I say return it to him and get your money back.
