Hey guys, I'm desperate for help with textured g-10 handle scales. Got them cut out and shaped perfect. Now the problem... For some reason I can't peel off the protective layer thats on it to protect the texturing. I've worked with this stuff before and was always able to "catch" the edge with a razor and peel off the coating. With this latest piece I've been trying for almost an hour and can't get it off,its driving me crazy. There has to be a better way, what am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

I've got the same issue with some from Midwest. One sheet peeled fine, the other...

sand it off ? or try to prick up the edge with a pointy scribe or similar tool an 1/8 of an inch in from the edge so you wont gouge the side. woodster

If you sand it you will take off the texture. I find it best to peel it before shaping. I have.had luck with a Sharp blade in a corner followed by pliers.
