Help with gatco sharpener?

So I bought a gatco sharpener and I just can't get my knife sharp with it. I need some help with a better technique or maybe I'm missing something. I'm sharpening a para 2 at 15 degrees and it looks like the sharpening stone is missing the edge (when using sharpy it doesnt remove the sharpy). Any help with this would be great, thanks.
 
You've got to keep going til it hits the edge or pick a thicker angle.
 
Put sharpie in the edge and you will be able to see where you are taking off metal. I bet it wouln't be at the edge.
