Help with general forum naviagation and etiquette

So i don't be the new bloke that asks all the same questions as every new bloke (hopefully) i am mainly looking to research different survivsl/bushcraft/outdoors knives in the 8ish inch length range with a fairly heavy blade, I was wondering where best in the forum it would be to go for threads on this and to ask some questions.

If you have a question about a specific knife, you can ask in the General Forum.

If it's a knife from an outfit or maker which has it's own forum here, I'd recommend asking in that forum. examples would be Spyderco or David Mary.
