Help with gift for husband

I am searching for a folding knife (with locking blade) that has some amount of ivory for our 14th wedding anniversary. I would like it to be a good quality knife...not necessarily something he might choose but one that isn't of poor quality. I searched several websites that I've saved over the years (while peaking over his shoulder at the computer) and have scanned the numerous catalogs littering the house. I found 2 that fit both the ivory and the price range I want to be in but I don't know if they are good quality knives or the cheaper variety. Would love any feedback on them or any other ideas out there.
Thanks in advance for the help!

The first is a "Lone Wolf Paul Pocket Folder with Ivory Micarta Handle"

The second is a "Bear Large Titanium Sideliner Lock with Genuine Ivory Handle"

Don't know anything about those knives, and I don't know how much you have to spend but have a look HERE

Mammoth ivory Mnandi.

Buy him that and he's sure to be very seriously impressed.

Go for either the ivory inlayed Mnandi, or one of the William Henry offerings in ivory.

Keep in mind that the Ivory Micarta on the Lone Wolf knife is only Ivory colored, but is a synthetic material. You might also contact Gil Hibben (Hibben Knives). While he's mostly known for big fantasy knives, I have a sweet little folder that he made with real (pre ban) Ivory scales that he made. It also has scimshap on the Ivory. It was a gift from my wife as well. It was in the $450.00 range.

I have not handled any Lone Wolfs but I have handled the Bears. They are not the top quality I would want to give to my spouse as an anniversary gift. I think you could do better. Feel free to send me a PM for some ideas. Kevin

I have handled a Lone Wolf Paul and like it very much but it is a SMALL knife. Perfect suit or slacks knife. I don't care for Bear products and have found them to be a poor quality knife. Good Luck and if your Hubby complains send him here, we'll take care of him.

Bladeluvrswife,

I have nothing but this to contribute: Your husband is a very lucky man.

Another vote for the Mnandi with ivory inlays. Excellent little knife. :)

Mnandi is a great suggestion - no matter what he'll be glad to have one of those! You may also want to look at William Henry knives, they have a large selection of fancy folders. This'll give you an idea:

Follow the advice people advance here and keep asking if you're not sure or as you narrow the choices. Don't forget you can also call some of the makers and talk with them.
What a thoughtful gift...you're both lucky.
Good luck,
Steve
