Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, but it has to do with knife building/repair

I found this old craftsman (pretty sure it was made by Schrade) fixed blade knife when cleaning out my fathers things after he passed this year. It had a stacked leather handle that was totally deteriorated. I have made a wooden handle to replace the stacked leather. I just need to know how to wedge or pin the butt cap/bolster/pommel back into place.
here is a picture of it. there was some kind of funny looking little wedge thing that fit into the end of the handle which presumable wedged the end of the handle apart, holding the end cap and the rest of the handle in place. I destroyed the wedge removing it. It was several months ago, so my memory is a little fuzzy on it. I think it was aluminum, but I'm not sure. I remember it was kind of strangely shaped. maybe like a diablo waisted airgun pellet or something like that. Here is a picture of the end of the handle

So the question is. How do I finish (as in complete) this? How would you finish this. I have the wood handle drying now (oiled it today). Can I make some kind of little wedge? How would you do this? I'm looking for any guidance. maybe they make the kind of thing I need, but I just don't know what it is called.

I figured it out. It is held in place with a rivet - like a standard pop rivet. I looked at pictures of this type of knife online until I found an image of the end of the butt cap.

I have a rivet gun. Just need to find the correct size rivet.
