Help with how to use my sheath

I rec'd a canadian belt knife recently. I came with a nice leather sheath that has a tin leather strap with 2" holes at each end. The strap slips through the sheath where a belt loop would usually be attached. Any idea how i would attach this to my belt?

I used to have pictures for this but I think they're gone now. I'll try to describe it.

Put one loop through the hole in the sheath from the front so this loop is in the back.
Now thread this same loop through the loop at the other end of the strap.
You should now have the folded belt loop. Take the top of the "belt loop" and thread it through the remaining loop in the strap. (the one you started with that was threaded through the sheath hole).
Tighten everything up and it should look like this:
