Just picked this up. Has a great feel to it. The handle is awesome. Can't find any information on the head shape. There are no marking's on it that I can see. Any information would greatly appreciated. Approximately 20" long. Looks like there's leather around the head.
My guess is made in England. Looks similar to some of the patterns shown in The Illustrated Sheffield List (1885), presumably for the South American market:
I agree with Steve. It has the style that is preferred in Latin America with the lack of a poll. The eye shape suggests European origin. It probably came with an other-than-hickory handle which accounts for the large eye size. The hickory haft had to be shimmed to fit.
The lack of poll will give it poor balance and make it slightly less accurate.
