Hello, was cleaning out my grandfathers barn and found this tucked away in one of the horse stalls. I'm not sure if it was just put there one day and forgotten about or what.
I cant find many markings on it as it was used alot in its day from its looks. I can make out "FORGED STEEL" stamped along the flat side with what appears to be "M F H" under it.
Like I said just trying to find out anything about it
Thanks in advance
Blade is 6" long, 3" at flat end and 3 1/2 at sharp end, 1" wide at flat end, 18" total length
Still having trouble posting pictures

To post photos you have to use an image hosting site. I personally use postimg. Based on your dimensions I came up with the following sketch. Does your head match the sketch?

Okay thank you, yes that matches pretty well the only thing I have to check on when I get home is the flat side I'm not sure if they are rounded on the corners or more square but other than that it is spot-on
