I have an iPhone 4. I have it synched to my work email. Last couple of days when I press the email icon, it flashes a white screen and immediately crashes out. The phone, internet connection, etc., still appear to be working but at least one other app crashes the same way. My on off button is broken so the only way to turn it off is to let the battery die down. (The on off has been broken for over a year so I don't believe its connected). I'm not tech savvy so I have no idea what to do. Any thoughts?

Problem solved. I took it to the Verizon store where I bought it and a young woman probably a third my age did a few incomprehensible things and it worked fine. I think the new tech people are like the ancient shamans. They do mystical things that I can't understand and wave their hand and it works.

I go by the mantra "ignorance is bliss" when it comes to these smart phones , and the plethora of "I things "I have. Lucky for me, my brother is a senior engineer for Verizon and the wifey is pretty sharp as well. Perhaps you had an overload of apps open? I know when jr. gets on my iPhone it runs wacky when I get it back because he has like 20 different games going etc..
Overall, my almost 5 year old iPhone 4 functions without a hitch and it has been deep sixed by jr. twice, once in the toilet and once in the Schoharie!
My brother gets to test many prototypes each year and as far as he's concerned nothing beats the Apple devices.
Get your switch fixed.
