I collect military antiques and have always wanted a Katana and now i have my chance. I am a newbie to swords as they have always been a minefield (to me at least). But, i willing to be a student and learn. I was wondering if these swords looks good or bad. I know the pictures are the worst but, its all i got from the seller. Again sorry for the horrible photos.

Katana inside.

Need lots more pics; the blade length, the hamon, the hada (if any), the kissaki, the nakago and mei on the other one.
At this point can't tell much except they appear (pending further pics) to be real Nihonto.
The best place for good input (if you can get the pics needed ) is:
"The Nihonto Message Board" at: http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/index.php

Hi birdchild

Are the handles wrapped or molded? If they are molded, they could be war time swords. The habaki looks real with the highly visible file marks. Tsuba looks real too
