help with ka-bar folder

have a nib ka-bar stag folder with dogs head. Marked Union Cut co. Olean, N.Y. and V111/78. Any help will be appreciated, Other side of tang marked KA-BAR, reg.u.s.pat off

Your knife SOUNDS like one of the folding hunters made in 1978 for the KA-BAR Collectors Club. I believe they made both single and double blade versions.

Pictures would really help. Others may have more to add after seeing the knife.
