Help with Kami Mark ID?

I just acquired a chainpuri from another forumite, and the kami mark is unlike any that I've seen or can find in the various kami mark collections.

We're calling this a Tirtha because the mark looks a little like a beer mug (or coffee mug), but it's really quite different from any of the Tirtha marks that I've seen. Also, the devangari initials above the mark are different from Tirtha's and different from any I've seen pictured. There is a "U.B." on the other side, so the blade does not predate 2005.

Here are two pictures, followed by an example of Tirtha's kami mark.

Does anybody recognize it? It's a well made knife and a good size (almost 23" overall and 28 oz).

The last picture is definitely Tirtha's mark. The second one I couldn't say, it's not in the right spot, couldn't see enough in the first.

The last one I'm positive, I'd wager my whole bank account, $12.76 cents, all yours if I'm wrong.
 
Definitely Tirtha. He had a new mark when he came back to HI for short spell but most of his marks prior to that are as yours is marked. It actually a madol drum but most recognize it as a beer mug. I like the beer mug idea too:D

I might have confused things with that third picture.

The third picture is from a different knife that was definitely made by Tirtha.

My question is about the mark in the middle picture. That's the mystery mark.
 
Kind of what I figured, didn't look like the same picture. I'd say # 2 is not Tirtha. FYI did tell me on my first visit that Tirtha did in fact really like beer, she also calls it a beer mug so maybe we're not all crazy after all.

So does this mean I need to send the bank account? I mean there was some miscommunication and all but I'm a man of my word and $12.76 is nothing to laugh about ya know.
 
The second one looks like the madol drum like ndog said, it could be Tirtha's work, but it isn't the usual mark I've seen on his work.

The devanagari characters look quite different on the second blade as compared to the third blade, which does appear to have the Tirtha "beer mug" mark - Ndog, how do the characters translate?

I know the third pic is Tirtha. The Devanagari matches as well. I meant I dont know who the second pic mark belongs too. It does look like a Madol drum as well but the Devanagari dont match what Tirtha used to do. There was another Kami that use to make a Madol drum mark but his was laying down versus Tirthas upright "beer mug". Ill look it up when I get home and see if I can translate it.
 
I think he's in the list of kami's in the stickies. I'll try to look later too, they are whooping me like the low down egg sucking dog I truly am today.
 
In my wonderous secret file of kami marks, young Sher uses a madol, too, but different than Tirtha's mark.
 
Kamidog old amigo, If I toldya I'd have to killya. The madol will have a "design" on the body and is usually 90 degre es to the madol used by Tirtha.
P.S., Gonna take a rain check on killin'ya. I'll set up an appointment when I can get around to it, well, that is if you have time.

Yes, I do recall that quote from somewhere's, I know it's from auntie or Uncle Bill. I cannot remember where I saw it.

I wouldn't just go lay down on Bookies execution altar, make him work for it. He'll find ya, I have no doubt but might as well make it a challenge, keep him sharp and all ya know?

I'm booking a ride to Cambodia to hide out myself, dag nabbit, I let the rabbit out of the sack, I'll have to change my plans to a different place and zip my lip.

Scroll down to I believe right after Tirth (good comparison) and you'll see young Sher which as Bookie so eloquently stated is a sideways madal drum with lines inside, not found on the Tirth Beer Mug.

Not that I ever question anything that comes from Bookies keyboard, I trust it more than the internet.
 
Well now that's a feather in me bonnet I'll wear proudly for some time to come for sure.

Yep Im officially unemployed as of yesterday. Bout dang time! They cut my hours and held me hostage for my severance pay for way too long. Sicko's! Ive been there for 15 years so I couldnt just dump my severance and go. I actually went into the CFO's office after lunch and asked if they could rid of me by end of the day. He said he'd try to get the paperwork done and get back to me. At 4:30 he called me in the office and finally let me go! Whoooohoooo! I aint been that happy in 15 years! Then when I was ready to leave the building they had all gone home. They took my key upon termination so I couldnt lock up the damn building and now im stuck there with the doors unlocked. That just figures. Im never getting outta here it seems. I did manage to lock it all up and geri rig the back door so it wouldnt open and im finally free.
Cambodia eh? Sounds like a wonderful place. Id love to go to Laos and Thailand too! They live on some pretty good eats there from what ive heard! Good fishin too. Lets go!
