I just recently bought a Kershaw Tremor, I love it, but i went to switch clip to tip up and striped out one of the screws. How would you remove screw and can I find
a new screw somewhere ex... at a hardware store or online??

Thanks :)

I'd suggest contacting Kershaw.... they have great customer service, and will probably send you a set of new screws.
When my Chive broke, they sent me a new knife and some extra parts.

Kershaw customer service will take care of you. Go to this page

If you use the web form to ask for new screws, make sure you select "Warranty Service" in the "Subject" field. You can always call the number listed as well.

Kershaw will send you the screw. But you might have an off-spec driver; torx bits that aren't made well (that's most of the ones out there and pretty much all of the ones you'd get at a hardware store) tend to strip or not fit screws. Take a look at Wiha bits; they aren't very expensive, but they're made very well and the tool steel is very strong.

+1 on this. I bought a nice set of the Craftsman Micro-Tech Premium screwdrivers, including the Torx versions, just for this reason.
I wonder if the screw is stripped or if the hole is stripped. Hopefully, it's just the screw. Send it back to Kershaw.

there was some sort of glue or paint on the head, which made it hard to turn resulting in the striping. :(

The screws on all of Kershaws "new" line of made in China knives are HEX or ALLEN not Torx. Also unless things have changed Kershaw doesn't stock parts for their Chinese knives. Check with Kershaw though.

I have a Tremor and changed the clip to tip up. 1.5mm or 2mm HEX is what you need.

They make an easy out which is basically a screw with reverse threads. You drill a small hole in head of stripped screw per instructions, then slowly turn in the easy out in a counter clockwise direction. The easy out will bite in and then unscrew even the most stubborn screws that are stripped. I have used it on a few occasions and they work great. Should be able to get them at Sears or other hardware stores.
