Hello everyone, new board member here. I was wondering if you guys could help point me in the right direction. I am looking for a new knife to add to my collection. I love ZT knives. My current EDC and favorites are the GEN2 ZT 0550 with a custom Cuscadi scale and an 0560 CBCF. However I would like to find something that is much lighter yet offers the same great features. Most importantly the smoothness with witch they deploy. Other factors to consider, I would like carbon fiber scales, around a 3 inch blade and a frame lock or liner lock. Prefer the shape of the 0550 blade and lastly would like to stay below $200. Ideal weight below 4 oz.
I was considering the Spyderco Sage but own a Delica 4 and not really happy with its smoothness. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The sage is smoother than the delica, to my knowledge. I'd also consider a Spyderco Caly 3.5 in ZDP-189.

Spyderco has such a nice selection...
The Gayle Bradley in CPM-M4.
or...the Stretch in ZDP-189.
Both of these have 3 1/2" blades.
Check out the Sage2 if you want 3" blade. Outstanding smoothness.

Sages are waaay smoother than a Delica. Nature of the back lock in general i think. The sage will be as smooth, if not smoother than your ZT's.

Sonnydaze is the smoothness of sage 2 that much better then sage 1? I prefer the carbon fiber on the sage 1.

The Spyderco Dice sounds like it would be precisely what you're looking for. Unfortunately, it's not been released yet.

Wow Insipid Moniker thanks bunches. I just checked out the Dice and your right, this seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. Any idea when it releases?

If you have a little time to waste, I'd look up the ZT 0770 CF. That sounds like exactly what you're after. The 0770 is available now with aluminum handles, but the CF version hasn't been released yet.
