Help with Makers Mark

So I'm looking to start marking my blades. My wife did up some awesome logos ideas but the letters were too similar to other makers so I decided to just try my initials. I plan to have a this plus the steel type either below of just beside the mark.

I mocked up a whack of examples and would like to get some opinions. All criticism is welcomed. If they all look like like garbage don't hesitate to tell me! Some need to be tuned up but I just want to get a sense if I'm headed in the right direction.

I assume your initials are SRK, I wouldn’t know that from your makers mark. They appear as R/K, I would try to bring out the S more if you want to go this route.
Of what you have shown I like this one the best:

but would try to take out the notch missing from the S.

Initials are RSK. I was going to go with Kozub Custom Knives for a logo KCK (had some really cool logos drafted) but then I found Yana Kozub Knives so I didn't want a name to would be confused.

Thanks for the input.

IMHO a makers mark should not be cryptic and should be self explanatory.

RSK says nothing about who made that knife.

A person should be able to look at the makers mark and not think, "Who?"

I agree with 3fifty7 on the one he selected of your design. I like a clear mark that can easily place the mark to a maker. Something that someone can see what the mark is, google it at least and find out the maker (if it’s not already a name)

What is wrong with R S K ????

Personally, I think the logos you came up with are poor for a knife. It would look great on shirt collars or handkerchiefs, though.

Once rsk knives brings up your site and social media it's good
You just need to sort out that S tho
Isn't that a medeival long s thats used for a double s?

Thanks for the input guys. If I go with the initials I'll need to fix the S. I was just messing around in word so I was severely limited in what I could do.

I'll look at some full name options as well

Just about every week someone is on BF with a knife with either a symbol or just initials trying to find out who made the knife. Put your name on the blade. Look at a Randall logo, most people could tell it is a Randall by looking at the knife, but the logo lets you know for sure. John

What's wrong with your last name? Let everyone know who makes your knives. Larry

Adam is correct, this has been brought up before, and it seems the general opinion of of people is the more information about who made it the better. For Example last name followed city and state.

i think all knives should have a name and location. too many times i see forum threads titled "who made this knife?" because there is only a symbol or initials on it. once you become well known a last name may suffice, such as fisk or bagwell for example. an internet search will show a lot of info on established makers just by googling their last name and the word knife.

I'm interested in this as well. My name is Stormie Wutzke. I go by Storm most if the time and some call me "Stormy". My last name is Germanic and probably has something to do with pigs. I'm pretty sure my family mispronounced the name as "What-Ski" and from that pronunciation it cannot be spelled and from the spelling it can't be pronounced. For some reason people remember my first name. I think there is a guy in Poland that uses the name Storm and I don't want to rip him off but I do feel that I can use my own name somehow. My initials are SLW so I guess I could use the brand SLoW knives but I'm not sure that is my best option. I'm leaning toward by Storm or by Storm W. I'm not sure if that fits some of the advice in this thread.

To OP. I hope you don't mind me riding your thread since its the same thing I have been wondering for a while. Maybe you will get more hits this way. If its distracting I will delete.

I think you're thinking too much about this ... any name you choose is good .Whatever name you choose you start building up your reputation on that . Nick Wheeler ...... do you think that this name meant something once upon the time ? ?

Thanks for all the advise everyone. I made up some stencils that have my name location and steel type. I agree that this will eventually make it easier for people to find me. Still a work in progress.

I'm going to be doing up some charity gifts so I think the name is the way to go.

There is also something to be said about putting your name to something instead of just a logo.
