Help with modding my new CS Trail hawk

I just bought a Cs Trail hawk, now I have watched a few vids on how to mod it and friction fit it to the handle. Is it safe to fiction fit it? I mean if i was to do some serious chopping I worry about the head not staying on.
If you could lay some tips on my that would be super, general knowledge and tips and tricks for modding would be fantastic
PS. I have all the necessary tools for the job so anything would be helpfull

All you really need is sandpaper. Remove the set screw, sand the haft, sand inside of hawk head, put the head back on, check for fit, repeat.
