Finally picked up my first Spyderco and hoping someone can help me out with some background on it.
It is a Jess Horn C27 108 of I believe 1200.
I think I saw on U tube they were from 1994, but that may have been the one he was showing.
Any help would be much appreciated (rarity, collect ability, value etc).

They were made from 1994 to 1998, ATS-34 steel, and they made two models a (this is where my memorie gets a little Sketchy:o) I forget how you tell the difference between the two, but the origanale's MSRP was around $450 and the second runs was about $350 (IIRC the price went down because the changed manufacturers and they were of slightly less quality)..... That's all I can rember:thumbup:

My personally guess would be you have the cheaper model, mainly because in the examples I've seen (just pics) the second run seemed to have darker bone.

Lastly you have to be a gold member or higher to ask values, I would just go on ebay and look at completed listings then shave of 10%-20% and there's a fair price haha!

Again take this with a grain of salt, I'm no expert;)

Best!

Apologies, didn't know about the "asking values".
I'm more of a fixed blade man so am gradually adding folders to the collection and learning as I go.
The number is 108 so if I can get an idea of the age at least, that would be great.
Thanks for the info so far. :)

Thankyou very much for the link.
Now if anyone can tell me how I would know whether mine is the first or second model, I would be set.
The first link mentioned that 000 to 300 were done as an Evolution set and mine is 108.
Does that mean I have part of a set or were single knives made from 000 to 1200 as well as the sets.
Also, mine is numbered on the blade and one of the pictures in the first link was numbered on the bolster?

San Mai.

I am not an expert on this knife. Paul is. For me the knife is an Icon. Evolution set has nothing to do with Jess Horn. Evolution set is a set with two Workers. IIRC there was only one model, but few variants (PE and SE, some knives had signature on the blade and some didn't). This knife was made by Moki. IIRC Moki made the same knife for Beretta, also the same knife was sold as Moki.
The knife was discussed many times here and on Spyderco Forum, so search would help you or ask Paul directly.
Congrats.
