I want to get into knife and tomahawk throwing, I bought "the complete knife throwing guide" by Gil Hibben and "Knife and Tomahawk throwing" by Harry McEvoy, I have cut a couple 18" cross sections from the bottom of a deadfall pine and will make a frame for it next week so I'm set on a target. I have a cold steel Norse hawk and thats it as far as anything to throw I'm thinking of getting a couple more of these. Now on to the question. I am looking at the cold steel true flight thrower and the bigger model they make with a bowtie style blade. Are these good starters?

Before you do that check out SMKW for their Rough Rider throwers.
DO NOT MENTION NON BLADE FORUM DEALERS - RE READ THE RULES ABOVE sale Rough Rider throwers in 3 styles from $6.00 to $8.00 a piece. For a good knife well made and at a great price they can't be beat. Now I love Trueflight but they cost to MUCH to start out with. I use the RR exclusively anymore I have 2sets and c a n tell you from experience with them you will not find a better knife at that price.Buy a set that is 10 to 12 inches long don't buy anything smaller it will just be a waste of time.If you go with RR git the medium size set they are the best style to start with if you have to have a bowie they have a great one but I would go with the diamond shaped one's.Have fun

I checked them out and they make a large bowie style similar to the cold steel that I like that's only 12$, how does the stainless hold up compared to high carbon
