Hi all,
I recently lucked into the acquisition of this beautiful, older Boker USA #8573. The tang side not shown in this photo is stamped with the model number and there is a tree between the 85 and the 73. The miniature dime inlay appears to have been a modification added by a previous owner and is kind of a rough job. My guess is that had it been offered from the as some limited edition by the manufacturer, the mini coin would have been seated flush with the scale. However, the knife is lovely and is made beautifully.
I'm wondering if anyone may be able to help me guess the approximate age of the knife and what the scales are made of? And, anything else of note that I should know, disregarding it's worth, of course, which I really don't care about. I just love the piece and intend to keep it for the long term.
Thank you and I so appreciate any help that might be offered. Here it is:
