help with my new knife and sheath

I bought a Buck silver creek bait and I like the knife but the sheath confuses me. Shouldn't it hook to my belt and me be able to take the knife out without unhooking it from my belt. If I try to just pull the knife iyt the sheath cones with. What would you recommend? This is my first ever fixed blade. Thank guys.

Would you kindly take a picture of how you are wearing and maybe a movie of how you are using it?
 
Sounds like the sheath fits too tightly around the knife so that the plastic belt hook detaches before the knife can.

I believe the sheath is nylon, would you have access to a heat gun? You can hit the sheath area where it is binding on the knife with some heat and carefully widen it a little bit with a wooden dowel so the knife doesn't fit as snugly.

You can also heat the hook and bend it so that it'll hold against your belt better.
 
Yes the knife fits very securely. But the Clip also seems to small for my belt. Which is just an average leather belt.
