Brand new to knives and new to this forum so apologies if this is in the wrong sub-section!

Anyway my lady's father gave me a knife he found around 15-20 years ago the other day and I would really like to find out some good info about it.

I looked up what I could and it seemed to be a fairly decent knife but I think I can do a little better! I noticed the knife doesn't have any serial numbers or anything on it so it kind of left me confused as to what the model was and what not.

Hopefully you guys can help, Thanks!

Looks like a Benchmade Pika. Nothing wrong with ATS-34 steel. You might consider shipping it back to Benchmade under their Lifesharp program. Might be able to get a new pocket clip at the same time.

Actually I believe it's a Benchmade 830 Ascent not Pika.

That is a AFCK 800 series, but which one exactly, I am not sure....

At least it's a start!

IIRC, ATS34 was dropped in favor of 154CM around 2000 or 2001. If so, it's probably a late 90's or 2000 model.

It is a Benchmade Ascent or Eclipse (depending on its age). With the Spydie hole and combo blade it would be one of these:
820S (Small) - 2.9" blade
830S (Medium) - 3.5" blade
850S (Large) - 3.9" blade

Post this in the Benchmade sub forum and I'm sure some of the experts there can give you even more information.

It's an Ascent as mentioned above, I have the same one I carry in place of my AFCK when I'm afraid to lose it.

I was half right, 800 series.

Sorry for the AFCK mistake.
