Hello fellas. I just picked up my new BK&T11 at the post office. First thing, this knife really feels good in my hand. I truly believe that I could field dress a mule or whitetail deer with it no problem.

The issue is with the Kydex sheath. The knife is hard to get in it and almost impossible to get out. Does anyone have experience with this or an idea how to fix it.

Thanks ahead of time for your help.

I fixed it with a hair dryer! It is somewhat tight but no big deal. Again, this really looks to be a great knife. BTW, it was razor sharp out of the box, thanks Ethan and KaBar. I already have the camillius Bk9 and 7. I plan to purchase the Campanion.

I just dont push mine in all the way. It holds solid being "most of the way in", and comes out easily with a minor tug.

How are you drawing the knife out of the sheath? I find myself using my thumb to push off against the sheath as I pull. It comes out decently smooth.

If you want a cool kydex sheath, there are a number of sheath makers out there who can help you out.

Eric(here as Normark) of On Scene Tactical can help you out.

Hey y'all first post on this site...

I use my thumb like winz described to release the knife but I also worked the knife in and out a couple hundred times when I first got it to smooth out the detents.....

I'd rather it was a little too tight then loose.

later.....

Exactly my experience as well. It will loosen up!

On kydex sheaths, I put a layer of masking tape around the portion of the knife that is binding, then use gentle heat. I have a heat gun so I need to be judicious in applying heat. I do about 5 secs per side, keeping the heat moving in a circular motion. Do it for a number of cycles and then put the knife in and out a few times, until kydex is cool. That has usually given me the results I needed. YMMV
