Help with Ontario 499 ASEK

Hello all!

I'm new here, though I've browsed the forum on various topics from time to time. I have an Ontario 499 ASEK that I love and has served me well, but the leather washers have become just a bit loose on the handle. Any suggestions for tightening them up? Thanks, I'm glad to finally join the group!

Hmmm...must have either asked something too obvious or stumped everyone. At any rate, I think I solved my problem, so if anyone else has had this problem maybe this will help. I took a chunk of pure beeswax, heated the leather with a heat gun, and melted several layers of wax into the washers until the leather was more or less saturated. That tightened them up quite a bit.
