Help with picking knife

Can't make my mind up on the eka Sweden 10 or Gerber dmf clip point.... Could really use some info on either of them pros cons versatility would be a great help guys thanks.

Welcome. I would say "neither," and strongly suggest an Opinel Mushroom Knife.

Of course, if I knew what you wanted to do the your knife, my answer might be different.

Do you have a specific need to address, or just looking to buy a new knife? This is hardly comparing apples to apples, as these two knives really have very little in common. I have an Eka Swede 8 that I bought while on vacation (for full MSRP as it turned out, with a horrible sheath) and while it's a fine knife, it's more of a utility blade. If I was to compare it to a Gerber, it'd probably be a Gator folder, which is available in a clip point version.

As far as the DMF, unless you're in love with the aesthetics, there are other knives worth comparing it to. I'd start with the Cold Steel Recon series because there are a number of blade sizes and shapes available.

Thanks for reply guy's basically went in to my local surplus and these 2 knives are around my price range £30-£40.

Of course if I shop online there would be more choice so that's an option.

I'd like to use the blade for skinning rabbits possibly chopping small logs for fire wood basically an all purpose knife.
Any other options would be greatly appreciated.
thanks dan

Perhaps a Becker BK7, or a standard Ka-Bar? Skinning and chopping are very different tasks, and you won't be able to find a knife that excels at both. There are a ton of reasonably priced all-around utility fixed blades to choose from.

If you can afford to spend a bit more, I'd really recommend going with two knives (skinning rabbits is going to be kinda tricky with a large-ish fixed blade), or perhaps a knife and a hatchet.
