Does anyone know of a tutorial on pin lock sheaths? I haven't had any luck with searching, here, or on the net.

If not, I would really appreciate just knowing: What do you use for the pin (& where to get them)?

How do you "install" it and what keeps it properly aligned?

I'm thinking of trying to copy an old style Gerber sheath or a Busse AD, but with a pin lock instead of the snap. If this isn't a good idea, please let me know!

TIA

Kenny Rowe uses the pin lock system a lot and you might find some useful pictures on his web site. I don't use the pin lock system because I feel it is Kenny's, but I do see other makers using the system. The pin can be made from a standard copper rivet. The rivet and washer type. It is kept aligned and in place by use of a snap set up to lock it into place when closed.

Thanks Paul. Sounds like it would just be easier to use a snap!
